Training & background:

Mr Goddard graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 1998 and worked as a junior doctor at both Guy’s and St Thomas Hospitals. He completed his higher surgical training in orthopaedic surgery and trauma on the South Yorkshire training programme.

Mr Goddard undertook an internationally acclaimed knee surgery Fellowship in Australia at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre, under the mentorship of Professor Leo Pinczewski.

He also completed a national Fellowship in knee surgery in Harrogate working alongside Mr Nick London.
Mr Goddard was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon in 2014.

Clinical Interests:

A specialist knee surgeon who is an expert in the management of acute and chronic knee conditions, especially sports related knee ligament injuries. Sees patients from the age of 16 and above and treats patients across the whole spectrum of knee conditions allowing for continuing care.

Knee conditions treated include anterior cruciate ligament rupture and other knee ligament injuries, meniscal injuries, arthritis and cartilage injury.

Knee procedures performed include arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, revision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, arthroscopic meniscal surgery including repair, arthroscopic cartilage procedures, total knee replacement and partial or unicompartmental knee replacement

ACL Reconstruction, Expert Orthopaedic Consultation, Knee Arthroscopy, Knee Pain and Knee Injuries, Knee Problems, Knee Replacement, Sports Injuries.

Personal profile:

Mr Goddard has published research articles in leading international orthopaedic journals including several on anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. One of those papers was awarded the ISAKOS Scientific Research Award in 2013. He has presented his research internationally including at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting. Mr Goddard remains committed to research and evidence based practice and is an invited editorial reviewer for the Bone and Joint Journal. He is a member of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK).

Mr Goddard lives locally in Wimbledon and has many interests away from work including being an expert skier.
